Pertamina successfully restores land assets in East Java

P

ertamina has collaborated with the East Java Prosecutor's Office and the National Land Agency’s (BPN) East Java regional office to continuously carry out the management of state assets located in East Java. Through this collaboration, Pertamina succeeded in recovering land assets covering an area of 583,131 square meters with an asset value of at least Rp 850 billion located in Gunungsari village, Dukuh Pakis district, Surabaya, East Java.

The handover of the assets was marked by the issuance of the asset certificate by the BPN to Pertamina at Pertamina's headquarters in Jakarta on Sept. 29. Present on this occasion were Pertamina director business support Erry Widiastono, BPN land regulations director Sri Pranoto and East Java Prosecutor’s Office head Mia Amiati.

Erry expressed gratitude for the strong collaboration between Pertamina and the Prosecutor's Office and the BPN in the effort to return state and state-owned enterprise (SOEs) assets.

“We believe that these government assets may not have been able to be returned to Pertamina without the exceptional support from the Prosecutor's Office and the BPN. Through an extraordinary and lengthy journey, these assets have finally returned to the country. Hopefully, this can provide benefits to the nation and this country," said Erry.

Erry added that asset recovery was crucially carried out by involving stakeholders, including the Prosecutor's Office and the BPN, so that state-owned assets can be capitalized on and provide significant added value to SOEs and the nation.

“This is not the last, we still need the support of various parties, because the recovery of Pertamina's assets can be achieved through good cooperation," Erry added.

The BPN’s Sri Pranoto said this collaboration needed to be continued for the management of government land or assets and SOEs under various field conditions.

“The Agrarian and Spatial Planning Ministry is making efforts to ensure that assets do not go missing, and the people are not sacrificed so that it does not become a major issue," said Sri Pranoto.

East Java Prosecutor’s Office head Mia Amiati said her office served as the representative of the state or government, where in the field of state administration, the prosecutor's office can act where there is a specific authorization. On behalf of the government, SOEs or regional-owned enterprises, the prosecutor's office has authority when entrusted with special power of attorney.

“The management of assets can be done through persuasive means, non-litigation efforts can be undertaken, and third parties can release what they have physically acquired," said Mia Amiati.

For the future, Pertamina hopes that the synergy that has been established with the BPN and the Attorney General's Office can continue in the efforts to save national assets.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy-transition sector, is committed to supporting the net-zero emissions 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All of these efforts align with the implementation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles across all of Pertamina's business lines and operations. **
