ertamina ensured energy availability during the recent Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023 event at Mandalika, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The establishment of a modular gas station at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit (PMIC) was a part of that commitment, and it was used for the operation of the event’s support vehicles.
Pertamina Patra Niaga president director Riva Siahaan revealed that in addition to maintaining energy availability for the Indonesian people, Pertamina also supported the availability of energy such as gasoline for Dorna Sports’ operational activities at the event.
"Pertamina is always present to ensure energy supply for the people. In this edition of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, Pertamina is also fulfilling the energy needs of Dorna Sports as MotoGP’s owner and trademark holder," he said.
He hoped that the modular gas station’s support for Dorna Sports’ activities would help ensure the entire event ran smoothly and improve Indonesia’s reputation.
Modular gas station operator Lalu Safrino added that the modular gas station was built a week before the event took place and started operating on Oct. 12.
"There is only one modular gas station located near the paddock at this circuit [PMIC]. The gas station is specifically designated for the Dorna team’s operational vehicles, because vehicle access is restricted here. Pertamax Turbo is the only product available [at the modular gas station], and payment is made using special fuel [BBK] vouchers from Pertamina Retail," Lalu said.
The modular gas station provided Pertamax Turbo, which has the highest octane rating among Pertamina’s automotive fuel products at Research Octane Number (RON) 98 and features Ecosave and Ignition Booth Formula (IBF) technologies. This formula allows Pertamax Turbo to achieve a perfect combustion process, making it suitable for high technology engines. Pertamax Turbo also enhances a vehicle's engine performance, making it more responsive and maintaining its engine’s cleanliness.
The modular gas station at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia managed the refueling of Pertamax Turbo for participants’ operational vehicles, safety cars, motorsport marshals and medical rescue teams. Pertamina prepared 4,000 liters of gasoline for this event.
Pertamina vice president of corporate communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso added that Pertamina gave its full support to the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023 event. Pertamina prepared improved infrastructure and facilities that could meet the needs of Dorna Sports and the public in order to ensure the success of this second edition of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia.
"This year marks the second year for Pertamina [participation in the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia] with the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023. The increasingly complete supporting infrastructure is expected to enhance this event," he concluded.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the field of energy transition, is committed to supporting the net-zero emissions (NZE) 2060 target by continually promoting programs that have a direct impact on the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All of these efforts align with the implementation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles throughout Pertamina's business lines and operations.
