he pursuit of “Golden Indonesia 2045” relies on collaborative efforts from the government, private and public sectors. Thus, corporate leaders and government officials convened to discuss vital economic issues and strategize ways to overcome prevailing business challenges at the “Kompas100 CEO Forum” held in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) area on Nov. 1 and 2. The event was attended by distinguished government figures, including President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Education, Culture, Research and Technology Minister Nadiem Makarim and National Development Planning Minister Suharso Monoarfa. Among the participants reaffirming their commitment to this transformative national vision was PT AIA FINANCIAL (AIA Indonesia), one of the most trusted insurance companies in Indonesia.

By 2045, through the implementation of development strategies, particularly in the education, health and technology sector, Indonesia is set to boast advanced and resilient human capital, alongside advanced and effective technology. AIA Indonesia, as an insurance company focusing on health and wellness, is actively contributing to achieving “Golden Indonesia 2045” by motivating people to have healthier lifestyles. This effort aligns with the company's purpose to help millions of families in Indonesia to live healthier, longer, better lives.

Sainthan Satyamoorthy, President Director of AIA Indonesia, stated, “As a life insurance company, it’s our business to look at and understand health risks. Based on WHO statistics, we found that 71 percent of premature deaths in the world are caused by non-communicable diseases, including diabetes, respiratory diseases, cancer, heart diseases and mental health, which are predominantly caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. However, we are aware that changing behavior is no simple task. Many of us make New Year's resolutions to pay for a gym membership but then hardly show up after the first week. This is because change is challenging, especially when it involves lifestyle modifications. We must find ways to motivate individuals to make these changes.”

Recognizing the impact of non-communicable diseases and the difficulties in committing to a healthier lifestyle, AIA focuses on promoting healthier lifestyles through shared-value programs such as AIA Vitality. The program has effectively motivated behavioral changes among members by incentivizing and rewarding customers for adopting healthy habits. The outcomes are tangible, as the members showed improvements in their health metrics, with over 60 percent successfully reducing blood pressure, 73 percent lowering cholesterol, and 14 percent achieving their ideal body mass index (BMI).

While individual health is important, AIA Indonesia realizes that environmental health also plays a crucial role in impacting the mortality and sickness rate around the world. Hence, as part of its sustainability initiatives, AIA Indonesia is integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles under “AIA Sehat Untuk Negeri'' into their business operations. This aims to support AIA Group’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, aligned with the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi).

In achieving “Golden Indonesia 2045”, multi-sector collaboration is essential. AIA Indonesia acknowledges the significance of playing a part in this collaboration by promoting individual health that extends to broader societal and economic growth. This is done by creating employment opportunities and investing in the capital market.

“As a company, we invested in recruiting more people and creating more jobs. This year, we successfully recruited thousands of life planner and bank insurance consultants, whose role is to offer advice and assist our customers in both financial and health protection, ultimately helping them with their financial literacy. We also play a significant role in the capital market, as we reinvest the money from the premiums in government or corporate bonds, which then support government initiatives or support businesses with capital to grow Indonesia’s economy,” said Sainthan Satyamoorthy.

AIA Indonesia highlighted the importance of collective action in achieving Golden Indonesia 2045, emphasizing the interconnectedness of various sectors. AIA's participation in the Kompas100 CEO Forum symbolized their commitment to supporting strong collaboration between the government and the private sector. The company's efforts in health and wellness, sustainability, and collaborative partnerships underscore the necessity of collective action in propelling Indonesia toward its grand vision of “Golden Indonesia 2045”.
