OX, the first Indonesian game streaming platform, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a four-year collaboration with Tencent Cloud. The agreement will be a step toward empowering Indonesia’s growing esports and live-streaming ecosystem.

Tencent Cloud’s industry-leading streaming service and content delivery network will enable GOX to deliver low latency, seamless and stable gaming content to its millions of loyal viewers throughout Indonesia and Asia.

The agreement was driven by the esports market boom that is overtaking Asia. The Business Research Company estimated that its global market value will reach US$2.89 billion in 2025 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23 percent. Another study by the Indonesian Gaming Association indicated that the local gaming sector is experiencing annual growth of 37 percent, signifying the scale of the Indonesian esports field.

GOX, as the only local gaming live streaming company in the market, is planning to continue developing products that focus on personalization and localization to cater to the community’s needs.

“Through our collaboration with Tencent Cloud, we are confident that we can accelerate the growth of GOX while maintaining the highest quality of streaming services. When COVID-19 hit in early 2020, the number of GOX active users had grown more than 16 times, benefitting from the social restriction, as more people started to go online. GOX has positioned itself to take advantage of the early wave of people turning to streaming as a full-time job. As the pandemic continues and the gaming industry further grows, GOX will solely focus on making streaming a ‘sexy’ occupation to have,” said Jack Lontoh, founder of GOX.

Tencent Cloud, on the other hand, has always committed to offering stable, fast and high-quality technology services to gaming and entertainment enterprises. This time, Tencent Cloud is ready to contribute to GOX’s competitive edge in Indonesia’s budding esports market.

In the future, GOX will pursue a deeper partnership with Tencent Cloud for more interactive platform features and gaming resource collaboration that will benefit both viewers and streamers alike.
