n Feb. 19, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia celebrated its latest industry milestone by opening its 1000th store, further cementing its position as Indonesia’s largest home improvement retailer. This historic store, located in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, is another significant step of MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia’s mission in providing high quality products at an affordable price for families across the country, from Sabang to Merauke.

Edwin Cheah, president director of MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia, shared that this milestone is the result of hard work and support from various stakeholders, including loyal customers, employees, business partners (suppliers), and communities across Indonesia.

“Reaching 1,000 stores is more than just a number, it reflects how we continue to grow alongside the community. Our company is committed to ensuring that every Indonesian family, wherever they are, has access to affordable, complete, and conveniently located products.” Cheah stated.

Similarly, this business sustainability effort also has a tangible impact, creating more job opportunities that run parallel to the expansion of businesses who partner with MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia.

Another noteworthy aspect of MR.D.I.Y.’s operations is how some of the featured Indonesian-made products have now reached international markets through MR.D.I.Y.’s global network.

“We want to ensure that our growth also benefits many parties, our employees, business partners, and the communities we serve,” Edwin added.

With over 18,000 products across 10 categories, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia’s 1,000th store in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, is also an affirmation to customers of their commitment to accessibility. Ensuring that easy shopping access and positive social & economic impact on local communities is available for every corner of the country.

“Choosing Bulukumba as the site of our 1,000th store is a tangible demonstration of our commitment. MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia is here for everyone, no matter where they are,” Edwin emphasized.

To show further appreciation for the support of customers, employees, and business partners, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia is strengthening its sustainable initiatives through the “MR.D.I.Y. for Indonesia” program.

This program focuses on three main pillars; empowering MSMEs through training initiatives, empowering women and children through education programs, as well as environmental sustainability through waste reduction campaigns.

As the first step, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia hosted the MR.D.I.Y. Run, a running event which invites customers, employees, and business partners to celebrate the milestone of 1,000 stores.

More than just a sports event, this initiative carried a social mission, with all ticket sales proceeds being donated to education and environmental programs in collaboration with the Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB).

With this achievement, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia remains committed to growing alongside the Indonesian community.

“We want this growth to be celebrated not just by MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia, but by everyone who has been part of this journey. Through ‘MR.D.I.Y. for Indonesia,’ we aim to reinforce our commitment to building a better future. Because for the people, MR.D.I.Y. is not just a store, it is an integral part of the everyday lives of Indonesian families,” Edwin concluded.
