inging in the new year and commemorating more than 30 years of experience in Indonesia, PT LG Electronics Indonesia (LG) has expanded its range of residential air conditioners with new additions to the energy efficient AC New Hercules line.
According to LG Electronics Indonesia President Lee Taejin, the line of low power consumption air conditioners is LG’s answer to the demands of Indonesian consumers, especially households with lower electricity capacities.
“Though we are widely known for our inverter ACs, the decision to expand our range of energy efficient standard ACs was done to provide more high quality products for households with limited electricity capacities,” he said.
As part of the standard AC category, the AC New Hercules offers a larger cooling capacity compared to other products in its class. With its initial ½ PK offering, the air conditioner offers a capacity of 5,000 BTU (British thermal units) while only using 370 watts of electricity.
This combination of energy efficiency and improved cooling capacity has made the AC New Hercules a hit with consumers. According to a report by the independent institution Growth for Knowledge (GfK), the line occupies a spot in the top three most popular air conditioners in Indonesia.
The AC New Hercules range offers a number of features designed for optimal user comfort, such as the aptly named Turbo Cooling feature that will speed up the compressor’s performance to cool the room with the push of a button. The compressor itself is equipped with the R32 freon, which is known for being the most eco-friendly type of freon currently in the market.
To optimize the user experience, the Self Diagnosis feature allows the AC to identify abnormalities during its operations, which will display the codes E1, E2 or E3 to pinpoint specific issues in the unit.
According to LG Electronics Indonesia product director of air solutions Changmin Han, the Self Diagnosis feature provides added convenience for consumers.
“Even though the problem may not be rectified independently, the feature prevents the possibility of incorrect maintenance,” he said.
For 2022, LG Indonesia has launched the ¾ PK and 1 PK variants, offering a wider range of products to suit each household. The new variants are produced in Indonesia, allowing for faster production and distribution while also contributing to the national economy.
At the same time, domestic production is part of LG’s commitment to increase the percentage of domestic components (TKDN) in LG products.
“This is part of our long journey and commitment to contribute more for Indonesia. LG is also a pioneer for the domestic production of inverter ACs,” says Lee Taejin.
Aside from residential air conditioners, LG has ramped up its own range of commercial air conditioners.
Along with a wider range of products, LG has introduced further innovations in the filtration system in response to the increasing scrutiny of air quality in enclosed public spaces. The commercial-grade air conditioners are equipped with a special filtration system that filters mold, bacteria and viruses.
On the other hand, LG has also introduced the LG AC Academy, which specializes in the education and training of commercial air conditioner technicians and experts.
“[LG AC Academy] is established to improve the competency of our business partners. We provide training free of charge, but with a high quality curriculum designed to improve the participants’ competency in various aspects of their service, from installation to maintenance and repairs,” Changmin Han said.
To that end, LG’s combined efforts are designed to provide a significant impact in the company’s vision of becoming a leader in air conditioning.
“We have a range of innovative air conditioning products both for residential and commercial use, a robust domestic production that provides sustained economic benefits and quick service, and an upskilling program for experts and technicians. These will be our assets to further increase our positive association for Indonesian consumers,” Lee Taejin concludes.
