Jakarta’s largest floating entertainment destination to be unveiled in Pantai Indah Kapuk Inspired by the old Batavia city, Batavia PIK applies a new concept, eco-friendly innovation, and modern architectural design as the grandest seaside tourist and culinary destination at Golf Island PIK.

elcoming Jakarta’s 496th anniversary, Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group have introduced their latest masterpiece of Batavia PIK.

Curated and conceptualized by Amantara, a subsidiary of Agung Sedayu Group, Batavia PIK is slated to become the grandest floating destination in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area. Development is divided into two phases; the first phase is located at Golf Island PIK, which will commence operating in May 2023; meanwhile, the second phase will be built on Riverwalk Island, which is planned to be opened gradually in the third quarter of 2023.

Standing majestically on two sides of an interconnected island, the 3.5-hectare floating entertainment and culinary destination is inspired by the old Batavia city as the archipelago's maritime trading center during the colonial era of the Dutch Empire, when it was known as the "Queen of the East". The port city, which is now called Jakarta, was known for its beauty, as well as a trading center and melting pot.

The thematic architectural concepts and designs typical of Batavia in the past serve as one of the attractions of Batavia PIK. The authentic atmosphere will be displayed through decorations, music and various entertainment events such as attractions on the water, light shows, fashion shows and lively music shows. With its unique concept and complete facilities, Batavia PIK was named as the Best Retail Development in the 2022 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

In addition to world-class attractions, Batavia PIK also applies environmentally sustainable design (ESD) through the use of water waste management and environmentally friendly building materials. A similar system is also implemented at Central Market PIK, the first retail building in Indonesia to receive an EDGE Advanced certificate from the Green Building Council Indonesia. Both developments rely on the concepts of eco living, landscape, distinctive architecture and biophilic design to create a harmonious blend of building architecture, nature and visitor comfort.

In line with Batavia PIK’s vision to preserve the diverse history and arts and culture of the archipelago, the Pasar Rakyat is one of the most notable locations in this destination. Built with a nostalgic architectural design style and decoration, the area is dedicated to supporting local MSMEs through various markets such as the Pasar Buku, Pasar Emas, Pasar Gerabah, Pasar Loak, Pasar Anyaman, Pasar Batik and Pasar Perabot.

Natalia Kusumo, CEO of Commercial & Hotels Division 2 Amantara - Agung Sedayu Group, highlighted the importance of Indonesia's younger generation in knowing the country’s history and rich culture while also having strong roots so as to instill national values as the foundation for a bright future.

“In this regard, Batavia PIK is expected to become a melting pot and showcase the richness of Indonesian culture for both local and foreign communities,” she said.

Apart from dedicated entertainment venues, visitors can also take pictures while enjoying scenic views of the sunset and the open sea from the Batavia Icon. Built above the water, the iconic building will host an art gallery that will display various works by Indonesian artists, along with a giant angklung installation as a form of appreciation for Indonesia's cultural richness.

Facilities such as shopping boutiques, souvenir stalls, cafes, restaurants, curated retail shops, prayer rooms, special pedestrian walkways and a variety of local and international culinary delights can also be found in the area. Some well-known tenants include Tugu Group, Dewata, Sate & Seafood Senayan, Warung Made, Filosofi Kopi, Cutt & Grill, Villa Capri, Orasa’s, Yeu Saigon Cafe, Rumah Jajan Bu Nanik and Canton 168.

Anwar Salim, director of operating units of Amantara - Agung Sedayu Group said that with its strategic location that is integrated with other destinations accompanied by thematic and historic architecture, Batavia PIK will enrich the variety of tourist and entertainment destinations on Golf Island PIK for residents and visitors alike.

Complementing the experience of visiting the PIK area, Amantara also recently launched the PIK Experience by Amantara app, which includes features such as a loyalty program, comprehensive information regarding tourist destinations under Amantara, and the latest news on events and promos. The all-in-one app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple Store.
