erekonomian Indonesia kembali melampaui ekspektasi pasar karena mencatatkan pertumbuhan produk domestik bruto (PDB) sebesar 5,11 persen tahun-ke-tahun (year-on-year atau yoy) pada kuartal pertama. Hal tersebut didukung peningkatan konsumsi domestik selama hari raya lebaran dan proses pemilihan presiden.

Dalam keterangan pers yang dirilis pada Senin 6 Mei, Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani mengatakan bahwa kualitas pertumbuhan ekonomi “meningkat secara signifikan”. Hal itu  mengingat tingkat pengangguran telah turun di bawah level sebelum pandemi.

“Di tengah ketidakpastian global, perekonomian Indonesia terus menunjukkan ketahanan,” kata Menteri setelah publikasi laporan PDB. Ia berjanji bahwa pemerintah akan menggunakan anggaran negara untuk menjaga stabilitas perekonomian dan mendorong pertumbuhan lebih tinggi.

Menurut pernyataan Menteri, naiknya belanja rumah tangga terutama didorong oleh rendahnya inflasi dan peningkatan aktivitas ekonomi selama Ramadan, serta adanya THR Idul Fitri dan kenaikan gaji pegawai negeri.

Angka pertumbuhan ekonomi tersebut meningkat dibandingkan triwulan IV-2023 dan triwulan I-2023, yang sebesar 5,4 persen.

Angka tersebut juga lebih tinggi dari perkiraan Moody’s Analytics, yang menyebut 4,9 persen. Pun, lebih tinggi dari perkiraan konsensus para ekonom sesuai hasil survei Reuters, yang menyebut angka 5 persen.
