urakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the eldest son of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, on Wednesday met with Ragowo “Didit” Hediprasetyo, the son of Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto, while Didit was in the Widodo family’s Central Java hometown to visit the cemetery of his maternal grandfather, former president Soeharto.

Didit, a fashion designer, is the only son of Prabowo and Siti Hediati Hariyadi Soeharto, better known as Titiek, who divorced following the events of May 1998 that led to the downfall of Soeharto, after he ruled the country for 32 years.

"I happened to be in town to visit the cemetery. To pay my respects before the fasting month of Ramadan," Didit said on Wednesday, as reported by Tempo.co.

Gibran said separately that the pair talked politics when they met at his office. "It’s a secret,” he said when asked for details. “It’s a political year, [so] it’s all a secret.”

The Surakarta mayor also said that Didit had unveiled a plan for investing in the city and had sought to obtain a permit from the local administration.

"He spoke about land around the compound that used to belong to his grandfather," Gibran said.

Didit had also provided some details of the gowns he was designing for Gibran’s mother, First Lady Iriana Widodo, and his wife, Selvi Ananda, the mayor added.

The meeting between Didit and Gibran comes three weeks after the latter met with Didit’s father Prabowo Surakarta.

During the meeting, the two politicians discussed their future plans and Prabowo also gave his blessing to Gibran to run for Central Java governor in 2024.
