Ridwan Kamil, the regional campaign leader for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in West Java, will focus on social media to target young voters in the region.
The head of the regional campaign team (TKD) for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in West Java, Ridwan Kamil, expressed his desire to use social media to promote the candidate pair’s ideas.
Ridwan said the younger generation in West Java would prefer a relaxed and easily understandable campaign style rather than complex explanations. Moreover, Ridwan said, the youth nowadays mostly had social media accounts.
“The typical youth in West Java prefers casual and popular content. We must be able to use social media to convey Prabowo-Gibran’s ideas to the youth,” he said, as quoted by Kompas on Tuesday.
“Especially if our content goes viral, the ideas of Prabowo-Gibran will be much easier and faster to recognize.”
During a campaign program briefing with Ridwan on Monday, National Campaign Team (TKN) Fanta leader Arief Rosyid Hasan discussed the ongoing and upcoming programs for young voters.
“Currently, the voices of young voters dominate the total number of eligible voters, [making up] around 56 percent. Our target is to win an additional 22 million votes from young voters, outside the young supporters already with us,” said Arief.
Regarding the appointment of Ridwan as regional campaign leader for West Java, TKN secretary Nusron Wahid said Ridwan was a national figure with significant influence and outstanding achievements.
