BP Tapera has given an assurance that savings payout discrepancies have been settled following reports by the BPK about faulty payouts by the housing savings program to beneficiaries.
he management body of the Public Housing Savings program (BP Tapera) has claimed that all identified issues have been addressed and resolved accordingly following a recent report of findings by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
BP Tapera further asserted that it had already returned housing savings to 956,799 retired civil servants or their heirs, totaling Rp 4.2 trillion (US$258.65 million).
“As per Law No. 4/2016, BP Tapera is committed to returning the housing savings [principal and accrued interest] to participants no later than three months after the end of their membership,” BP Tapera commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho said in a press release on Tuesday, as reported by kontan.co.id.
Heru also highlighted the challenges faced in the refund process as many participants and employers had not updated their data.
Due to these challenges, Heru urged all Tapera participants to update their data through the membership portal.
Heirs who have not received the returned funds are encouraged to get in touch through BP Tapera's official information channels, promptly.
Previously, it was reported that the BPK had uncovered significant lapses in BP Tapera’s disbursement of funds for the years 2020 and 2021.
