uch to the delight of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” fans, the fifth installment of the internationally acclaimed film series dropped its first official trailer on Monday.

Released by Walt Disney Pictures, the “Dead Men Tell No Tales” teaser showed an abundance of computer generated imagery (CGI) cliffs and the debut of a villainous entity, Captain Salazar, played by Spanish actor Javier Bardem.

The 1-minute-49-second clip opens with a ship entering an ominous cave, which is followed by a  fiery and deadly battle on board. A caged Henry (played by Brenton Thwaites) is then confronted by by the ghostly and almost zombie-like Captain Salazar.

With gushes of thick black bile oozing from his mouth, Salazar tells Henry, “Find Sparrow for me and relay a message from Capitan Salazar, and tell him… death will come straight for him.”

Despite the reveal of the primary antagonist, the teaser holds back on the franchise’s most familiar face. Johnny Depp, who plays the fan-favorite Captain Jack Sparrow, was nowhere to be found in the first trailer and only appeared as an image in a wanted sign.

According to an Entertainment Weekly report, the film’s premise will center around Salazar’s quest to annihilate every pirate at sea, by leading a horde of deadly ghost pirates out of the Devil’s Triangle.

To defend himself from Salazar’s dominion, Captain Jack must retrieve the artifact known as as the Trident of Poseidon, which grants its wielder power over the sea.

Aside from Depp, pivotal characters will also return including Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Kevin McNally as Gibbs, and Stephen Graham as Scrum.

The film’s production began in February of last year with directors  Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg at the helm, but was delayed due to an injury sustained by Depp.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will set sail into theaters on May 27, 2017.
