17-year-old meets long-lost father on 'ojek' ride

hen 17-year-old Salma Zuhara ordered an ojek (motorcycle taxi) via a ride-hailing app to get home from school, she never expected to find her long-lost father pick her up.
Salma's story garnered a lot of attention after it was shared on an entertainment Instagram account, which posts people's experiences related to app-based ojek, sharing both stories from drivers and riders.
"I had ordered a GrabBike ride after school. Then, I got a driver. I didn't really pay attention [to who it was]. When the driver came, I saw it was actually my own father. FYI my mom and dad have been divorced for a while and I haven't heard from my dad since then. Now God has reunited us like this. I'm really touched after I haven't seen him for years," Salma wrote on her account, as reposted on @dramaojol.id on Wednesday.

The post already has more than 74,000 likes and 5,000 comments, many of which noted how much they looked alike. A comment by @avitalubis read "No DNA test needed".
Salma first shared her story on her own Instagram account, @salmazuharaa, where she posted her story and a picture with her father, who donned the signature GrabBike jacket.

Salma told kompas.com that she had not seen her father in 10 years, since her parents got divorced.
Salma said it was difficult to describe her emotions after meeting her father again. "I feel sad, happy, awkward, I can't really explain it," she said on Wednesday.
The high school student now lives with her mother and three younger siblings in Kudus, Central Java. She said she did not know where her father lived. "All I knew was that he moves around. That's why I was surprised that I could meet him again yesterday."
During the ride, Salma said she talked to her father about various things, including her school activities. "But not too much, because it was still awkward."
She said she had saved her father's mobile number so that they could communicate again in the future. (liz/kes)
