This year’s April Fools’ Day brings Waldo to Google Maps in a series of mini-games.
Waldo, a bespectacled man with a winter beanie and red and white striped sweater, is there to greet users when they open the app.
He is a character from the popular puzzle book Where’s Waldo, created by Martin Hansford, an illustrator from the United Kingdom.
On Google Maps, Waldo will take users on adventures through a series of mini-games.

When you open the app, Waldo can be seen on the edge of the screen, waving his hand. A click on his figure will lead to a pop-up menu, filled with options to play the game.
The game’s locations are on several points on the map. When you see a Waldo icon in a place, tap on it and you will see a page from one of the classic Waldo books.
According to The Verge, once users locate Waldo, they can click on him to go forward to the next level, or stay on that level to find his friends, such as Wenda, Wood, Wizard Whitebeard and the villainous Odlaw.
This mini-game will be on the Google Maps desktop version as well as on Android and iOS for one week.
Previously, Google has integrated characters from Mario Kart, Pac Man and Pokemon Go into Maps. (wng)
