A

group of students from the Raffles Design Institute Shanghai showcased their collections at Autumn-Winter Shanghai Fashion Week 2018 on Monday. Carrying the theme "Hyper-Reality", the fashion show took place at 800Show, an old factory house and creative industry park.

Of the 17 students of the fashion institute that contributed to the collections, two hail from Indonesia. They are Velika Hillary and Ella Natali.

Ella, with her collection Hybridity, was inspired by her self-identity, which blended with different races and cultures. Velika's collection, The Silent Cross, was influenced by the book The Missionary Position: Mother Theresa in Theory and Practice.
