Ella, with her collection Hybridity, was inspired by her self-identity, which blended with different races and cultures. Velika's collection, The Silent Cross, was influenced by the book The Missionary Position: Mother Theresa in Theory and Practice.
Derrick Cheah, the college director of Raffles Academy Shanghai, told Antara, “We really appreciate the pieces designed by the two Indonesian students.”
Meanwhile, Stefán Orschel-Read, the acting academic director of Raffles Education Corporation, said Velika’s and Ella’s works had been selected from hundreds of other student submissions.
