yan Reynolds, who plays Wade Wilson/Deadpool in superhero movie Deadpool, has announced the auction of a pink Deadpool suit in a video campaign.
The actor wears a bright pink Deadpool costume in a video and tells viewers that he is auctioning off the costume to raise money in the fight against cancer. For the campaign, Reynolds is collaborating with Omaze, an online charity platform that offers everyone the chance to make a donation starting at US$10.
Donations raised by this auction will proceed to F*** Cancer, a non-profit organization that raises awareness and provides education about early cancer detection and prevention, while also creating positive and enriching life-changing experiences for cancer fighters.
Dubbing the video content a "special message" from Deadpool, Reynolds explains that the suit was for the "world to see that I have a big old heart on". Typical to the character, the actor did not maintain a sober tone. He used his much-loved jokes, saying, "that’s heart with a ‘t’, for my new obsession, pink—the color, not the singer. Personally, I’m more of a Celine guy".
He jokingly suggested that the winner of the auction rock the suit at a grocery store or "nail it to a post to scare off birds and children."

For a chance to win the costume, participants can donate any amount from $1,000 to $5,000. For die-hard fans donating more than $1,000, they could win other gifts, including a signed poster and a personalized voice mail by Reynolds in-character.
‘This is one fight where everyone can be a hero. No superpowers, capes or lame CG costumes needed—just your money,” said Reynolds, again in the classical Deadpool humor. “Seriously, we need that—these suits aren’t cheap.” (ely/mut)
