t is now possible to delete third-party apps on Facebook in bulk, following the Cambridge Analytica scandal, considered one of the largest data leaks in the social network’s history.

Facebook has faced a lot of pressure regarding the issue of user privacy. Cambridge Analytica allegedly accessed data on Facebook to influence voters in United States' most recent presidential election. Around 50 million people have been affected by this data breach, prompting Facebook to act quickly.

The network has now released a new feature on both its desktop and mobile versions where users can delete their third-party apps in bulk.

It is considered to be helpful for users to manage their third-party apps more efficiently, including third-party apps that have access to user’s personal data.

This new addition was confirmed last Tuesday by Techcrunch

Previously, users had to delete apps one by one, which could take a long time as there are a lot of apps that "piggyback" on Facebook.

To delete apps in bulk, users can go to the settings option and select the apps they want to delete.

To delete apps all at once, users can tick all the apps that they would like to remove.

It is still unknown how these changes will affect public opinion of the social media platform, but now users are better able to know, keep tabs and revoke access to those who have access to their data (mainly third-party apps). They would be able to protect their identity and data more effectively if they are not willing to reveal it to the public. (ely/wng)
