The “Rurouni Kenshin” manga is set to return in the July issue of Japanese magazine Shueishi Jump SQ.
Nobuhiro Watsuki’s manga went on hiatus starting December 2017 in light of charges pressed against the author for possessing child pornography.
After time spent reflecting and atoning for the incident, Shueishi Jump SQ finally decided to resume the current Hokkaido story arc, according to a statement.
A new chapter of the manga will appear in the July issue of the magazine, which will be released on June 4.
Authorities discovered DVDs featuring nude girls aged below 15 in Watsuki’s possession due to suspicion brought on by a separate child pornography case. Watsuki was fined 200,000 yen, or about P96,000, last February.
Watsuki had admitted to liking young girls. He said, “I liked girls from the upper grades of elementary school to around the second year of junior high school.”
