Rihanna has confirmed that she is currently working on her new album and is already in the studio.

The singer, who appeared on The Graham Norton Show with Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter to promote new movie Ocean’s 8, dropped hints regarding her newest releases.

“I am actually in the studio at the moment,” she told Norton, who then questioned if the album would be out by Christmas. “You’ll just have to wait and see.”

It was reported last month by Vogue writer Chioma Nnandi that Rihanna “plans to make a reggae album” inspired by Bob Marley and record producer Supa Dup.

Rumors of a double album are also swirling, as the singer was let down by the response to her 2016 album, Anti.

As reported by NME, a source said, “Rihanna wasn’t happy with how her last album performed – even though she loved how it turned out, she knows she needs a new project full of smash hits to avoid two back-to-back flops.”

“She’s currently recording two albums – one full of chart-friendly songs, and another made up of moody and experimental tracks – and is considering releasing a double disc if she feels the songs won’t mesh well on the same album.” (sul/wng)
