n ART Jakarta's 10th anniversary, M. Reggie Aquara presents a painting inspired by the behavior of today’s humans, who are satisfied and pursue a crafted reality while crafting their image based on self-exposure.

Heavily featuring brush strokes, palette knife scratches, melted paint, splashes and texture linings, Reggie’s artwork is a mix of the most distinct elements of classical, modern and contemporary painting. The elements are often used as an assessment of each painter’s personal identity.

“The exposure of typical elements in my paintings does not tell or symbolize anything except the reality of composition and color,” the artist said in an official catalogue.

Reggie graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology with a degree in painting. His solo exhibition, entitled "Rorschach and Roll" (Rachel Gallery, 2012, Jakarta), adopts the symmetric shapes found in the Rorschach psychological test. He has also participated in several group exhibitions.
