Sutopo was so happy to meet Raisa that he forgot his struggles with stage 4B lung cancer.
ollowing the birth of popular hashtag #SutopoMeetRaisa on Twitter, National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho finally met his idol, pop singer Raisa, on Tuesday in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
Both Sutopo and Raisa reportedly unexpectedly met in a building where Sutopo went to do an interview and Raisa went to promote her new song.
Sutopo expressed his happiness by uploading some photos on his Twitter account. “I finally met Raisa and she was singing in front of me,” read the tweet. “It felt like watching Raisa Pamit [her temporary farewell concert on Nov. 21]. Hopefully she stays healthy and successful.”

Sutopo was apparently so happy that he forgot his struggles with stage 4B lung cancer. “I forgot that I have stage 4B lung cancer,” Sutopo told Tribunnews.com. “But the pain came back when she was gone.”
He thought the singer of “Serba Salah” looked nervous during the meeting. “Probably she was afraid to meet a person who always delivers message about earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, landslides and soil liquefaction,” Sutopo said. “Or perhaps she was in a hurry because her schedule is tight, she still has other shows to attend.”

Although it was only a short meeting, Sutopo still remembers Raisa’s message for him to stay healthy and keep inspiring people. An almost similar message was given by Sutopo for the singer. “Keep up your spirit, Raisa. I wish you a successful career and family. The sky would be starless without you and I’d feel empty without you,” Sutopo said while citing Raisa’s song lyrics.
Sutopo has been known for mentioning the wife of actor Hamish Daud in almost all his tweets. In early October, the hashtag #RaisaMeetSutopo went viral on Twitter in which netizens encouraged the pop star to meet Sutopo. Later on Oct. 3, he received a video call from Raisa and said it was “the most beautiful memory for me”. (wir/kes)
