The premiere screenings took place in six cinemas in Lippo Plaza Kupang at 7 p.m.
NTT Governor Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat said that he expects the film to be an inspiration for Indonesia to grow the spirit of togetherness and accept differences.
“This is the first time that a film was premiered in Kupang […] and on June 20 it will be screened in every movie theater in Indonesia,” he said during the event on Saturday.
Viktor also expressed his appreciation for Ari Sihasale and Nia Zulkarnaen, the producers of the film.

“NTT is very proud because Ari and Nia had chosen to do the filming in NTT and [cast] NTT children to play in the movie,” Viktor said.
Meanwhile Ari Sihasale and Nia Zulkarnaen expressed their adoration of the region's beautiful landscape and togetherness, as well as other areas in eastern Indonesia.
“People always ask me why I always shoot in eastern Indonesia, such as in NTT or Papua […] I think the question should be: Why should we shoot in Jakarta? There are many lessons to learn here, from the little children here,” Ari said while introducing the NTT child actors who played in the movie.
Actress Pevita Pearce, who also played in the film, said she was impressed by the warmth and hospitality offered by the people at the border.
“These are the warmest people I know. I hope [this movie] can be accepted well by Indonesian society because I'm sure the strongest Indonesian representatives are NTT people,” she said. (gis/kes)
