ndonesian fashion marketplace Tinkerlust has launched its collaboration with 14 local brands under the campaign Local Heroes.

This is a new direction for a company known primarily as a resale e-commerce platform for branded and luxury fashion.

The Local Heroes campaign will be activated through several events, including a virtual fashion show and talk shows. The fashion show will be streamed on Sept. 24 on Tinkerlust's YouTube channel, while the talk shows are held once a week throughout September and October. Each will feature a speaker from brands featured in the campaign.

According to a press release, the brands are chosen for their commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly ethics and for their unique feats in the sustainable fashion business. They are Sare Studio, Everyday by Major Minor, Woodka, Lekat Dua, Sejauh Mata Memandang, Tulola Designs, Kuro Official, DuAnyam, Torajamelo, Masshiro, Pvra, Stelarmade, Meraki Goods and Callie.

Sare Studio features a collection of pajamas made from natural and biodegradable fabrics. Daily-wear brand Lekat Dua emphasizes its identity through Baduy Tribe woven clothing and by using production leftovers of the Lekat fashion brand. Sejauh Mata Memandang uses natural fibers, such as cotton, linen and Lyocell. The Kuro clothing brand commits to using only unused or unsold fabrics as well as ecofriendly materials for its packaging.

Torajamelo creates kebaya (traditional Indonesian blouse) adorned with Indonesian motifs and modern touches from the hands of female weavers. Callie's collections are made by minimizing production waste and involving local suppliers and craftsmen. Stelarmade uses zero-waste designs to reduce textile waste from its sister label, STELLARISSA.

In the accessories department, there are Woodka, which focuses on wooden watches with a woven cloth wristband; Tulola with a jewelry collection with designs inspired by the archipelago’s beauty; DuAnyam that outsources its products to female weavers in East Nusa Tenggara's Flores, rattan craftsmen in East Borneo and hibiscus tree bark craftsmen in Papua; Pvra that focuses on beaded sandals produced by local craftsmen; and Meraki Goods with handmade bags from leather and traditional clothing.
