onstant efforts must be made to improve human resource quality (HRQ) in any and all circumstances to keep people productive. HRQ can be upgraded through many means such as investing in education and health care.

This is why PT Sasa Inti, a pioneer of Indonesian flavorings and seasonings, is committed to upgrading the country’s human resources as a way to escape the pandemic that has battered the country for more than 16 months.

According to Sasa, Indonesia must also manage a crisis in health service supply, poor quality education and foods with low nutritional quality in its fight against the pandemic.

As part of its contribution to Indonesia’s struggle to free itself from the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has developed several educational and health programs in response to the current challenges.

In terms of education, it is running a number of programs that aim to improve HRQ, including a scholarship program for students in the regions. It has also built schools in the eastern regions of Indonesia.

In health, the company has been producing fortified food products that contain vitamins, omega-3 and omega-6 fats, fiber and zinc since 2020 to realize its aim to innovate nutritious foods.

In addition, the food company is providing public health services, such as running a free vaccination drive in collaboration with Walubi and the Indonesian Military (TNI).

It has also collaborated with the Indonesia Pasti Bisa campaign to help the government cope with the oxygen shortage by donating oxygen supplies, as well as oxygen gas generators to a number of hospitals in Jakarta, Surabaya, Wonogiri, Minahasa Selatan and Papua.

On top of collaborating with Pasti Bisa, Sasa and Rodamas Group are in the process of donating oxygen generators to targeted hospitals in Indonesia and will jointly implement all of the programs.

The donation of oxygen generators is expected to alleviate the burden on hospitals that have been struggling to provide supplementary oxygen to patients, as the equipment generates oxygen to supply the much-needed gas needed in treating COVID-19.

It has also expressed the hope that these imported oxygen generators donated collaboratively by Sasa and Rodamas will arrive in the country as soon as possible, at the earliest in August, when Indonesia marks Independence Day.

Sasa Inti has relentlessly and almost tirelessly come up with various and numerous initiatives to actively and tangibly help the most vulnerable Indonesians in their struggle to stand robust in their painstaking efforts to stay safe, protected and cared for, ever since the pandemic began some two years ago.

The pandemic has led to restrictions on normal professional and personal activities. In the early days of the pandemic, the company launched frequent initiatives to maintain a spirit of optimism among the people for quick national recovery.

One such initiative was “Sasa Got Your Back”, which aimed to raise public awareness about the value of compassion and caring for each other, and which involved the distribution of COVID-19 survival kits.

In addition, it collaborated with pop band HiVi! to produce its theme song, “Sasa to the World”, which encouraged the world’s citizens to stay optimistic amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government cannot work alone in the nation’s fight against the pandemic, given the magnitude of pandemic-related impacts and issues, as well as Indonesia’s vast expanse and large population. Battling the coronavirus requires the involvement of all parties through multiple means, including private sector collaboration.

PT Sasa Inti is doing its part in the nationwide efforts to free the country and its citizens from COVID-19 through its continued commitment to improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources.
