People who love to nosh at Crystal Jade are accustomed to Chinese dishes. But Presto Crystal Jade at the Pacific Place is an anomaly -- it serves Western and European Tapas instead.

Tapas, as it is known in its native Spain, are small size appetizers served hot or cold. It is said that tapas is served to make people enjoy their time before their full meal.

"If you make tasty food, eventually the business will not perish. That's what my boss told me," said Stella To, Crystal Jade special assistant to managing director.

"When we first opened our Korean restaurant in Singapore, people were startled. But now the restaurant is a success," she said

People do not come to Crystal Jade for a heavy meal. They come here to enjoy relax with their friends and enjoy their free time.

The L-shaped location of the spot is also a change from other Crystal Jade restaurants.

Its signature drink is the bok choy and pineapple juice. Presto's cold chocolate surprisingly tasted fresh as the glass packed plenty of good chocolate taste rather than too much iced water.

When The Jakarta Post was invited there to break the fast, the menu consisted of sweet potato soup, cheesy chicken pate crunchy roll, garlic prawn vermicelli, cheese and mushroom rosti, and chicken kiev.

From the list above, the most interesting plates were the cheesy chicken pate crunchy roll and garlic prawn vermicelli, which consisted of shrimp sauteed with garlic in a vermicelli nest.

There was also gindara teriyaki, a Presto fried Spaghetti with seafood, chicken parmigiana spaghetti with pesto and strawberry cheese pancakes with ice cream.

The special items here were the gindara teriyaki and a Presto fried spaghetti with seafood.

Since its establishment in 1991 in Singapore, Crystal Jade Culinary Concepts Holdings has grown to become a leading food and beverage group in Singapore. The group, which has restaurants in China, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand among others, has more than 80 outlets.
