JAKARTA: Project Pop member and female comedian Tika Panggabean has had surgery to remove her appendix.

“The doctor said I had better have the surgery before it gets worse. So I had it and it all went very well,” she was quoted as saying by okezone.com on Wednesday.

The 15-minute operation was conducted Tuesday, said the artist, who was still resting at Pondok Indah Hospital in South Jakarta during the interview.

She said she had long felt a mild pain in her stomach but was reluctant to go to a doctor to be diagnosed. She went to the hospital when the pain became unbearable, she said.

“Being sick is really bad. I now realize that I have to really keep a check on my diet,” the 37-year-old said.

Tika, the only female member in Bandung-based vocal group Project Pop, plays Odah in the popular sit-com OB, the acronym for Office Boy, on RCTI. — JP
