AKARTA: National Police public relations head Sr. Comr. Marwoto Soeto confirmed Thursday that actresses Luna Maya and Cut Tari would be soon named suspects in the country’s most recent sex video scandal.

National Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Ito Sumardi is determining how to charge the pair, but the celebrities will be named suspects once detectives make a decision, Marwoto said.

The police detained Nazriel “Ariel” Irham, vocalist of pop-rock band Peterpan, last week, after sex videos allegedly featuring him, Luna and Tari were widely-circulated on the Internet.

Detectives charged him under the 2008 Pornography Law, which stipulates a maximum punishment of 12 years in prison.

Police also questioned Ariel’s ex-wife Sarah Amalia on Thursday. — JP
