AKARTA: Property tycoon Ciputra says the government should commence the construction of the planned state enterprises (BUMN) tower early next year so as to improve the work efficiency of those enterprises.

“State enterprises hold 26 percent of the total national business shares. It would be ideal for them to all have offices in one complex,” Ciputra said Friday, as quoted by kontan.co.id.

He added that the construction could begin by Jan. 1, 2012.

Earlier it was reported that the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry was planning to build a single headquarters for state-owned firms, which would be named the BUMN Tower. Publicly listed PT Ciputra Development, along with Artha Graha and PT Taspen Persero, were reportedly among the developers interested in the project. — JP
