As the center of attraction and hope, SBY is fortunate to get strong criticism to improve himself to show him how to please his people — who adored and voted for him; not only once but twice!

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, as chief patron of the Democratic Party rightfully considers slanderous accusations against him and his party as deplorable.

However, it is a well-accepted fact that ‘politics is dirty’.

Besides, one should not forget that the establishment of the Democratic Party was meant to be used as a vehicle for Yudhoyono’s campaign to become president.

On the other hand the prestige and popularity of Yudhoyono made the Democratic Party a strong and dominant party.

Currently, with the diminishing popularity of the Democratic Party and the fact that he is not eligible to be nominated for another term, I foresee that in the 2014 general elections the role of the Democratic Party will be finished.

How come he doesn’t get incensed about corruption? How about the police wealth, etc…?

Hello, Mr. President. Where have you been? It’s not about the “slanderous” text messages somebody allegedly delivered to ruin your credibility. It’s because you cannot demonstrate us how to manage a country.

You have failed. It’s too bad and I’m definitely sad to think about what’s going to happen with the rest of your term. Do we have to wait until 2014?

History has always been molded to the likings of the powers that be. For example, Soeharto’s rise from the depth of Lubang Buaya to become the largest tyrant we have
ever seen.

The rise (and fall) of SBY and his Democratic Party will be afforded the same fate as little has changed.

This is democracy in name only. Let us not forget that none of the major corruption scandals (Bank Century, Gayus H. Tambunan, etc. etc.) have been concluded with any satisfaction because corruption has molded three branches of government into one with no regard for the common citizen — only for the bank accounts of the powerful.

He is the democratic leader. He should be ready to face challenges.

Ariph Gaöl

He should only be the chairperson of the board of advisors of the Democratic Party.

Achmad Marzoeki

If he knows it is slander, why should he waste his time to think about it?

I think SBY would do well to ignore it and get on with running the country.

What does being a Democrat mean if Yudhoyono can’t respect democracy where people can voice their thoughts?
