ANDA ACEH: The rock band Ungu’s concert on Saturday in Banda Aceh was fueled by an enthusiastic crowd of thousands, yet was marred by several incidents.

Those incidents included audience members fainting and traffic near the concert at Harapan Bangsa Stadium in Lhong Raya.

According to tribunnews.com, the band’s fans crowded near the stadium beginning at sundown, and parked on the side of the road causing traffic along multiple streets. The concert began at 9 p.m.

The organizing committee at first tried to separate male and female audience members, but that arrangement failed when the concert began.

When several audience members fainted, others began to head home before the concert had finished.

“We hope we can garner the same success in Banda Aceh,” Pasha, the band’s singer, had said at a press conference after a concert in Meulaboh.
