he deployment of US troops in Australia would mean that the use of military force would now be an open option for resolving conflicts in the region, whereas ASEAN countries would always avoid resorting to the use of force — for example in the case of Myanmar.
If the majority of the countries in the region request this deployment, then it is considered necessary.
But I believe that a non-military approach to the security problems in the regions (such as increasing training, dialogue, soft diplomacy, etc.) would be more welcome for the region.
To solve the terrorism problem in the region, it would perhaps need a stronger approach, but it should always be agreed by related countries. To impose a view or a condition on another party to accept unilateral (minority groupings) use of force whether in a military case or otherwise would be always be hard to accept by other parties because it would not be the best way and would not bring benefits for a wider group of people.
If such action is taken, it may only benefit a certain group of countries or if it is stirred by capitalism related interests with no respect for the value of humanities (human rights, freedom of expression, etc.) like the cases in Iraq, Libya, etc.
Imposing or forcing things would not have a good effect as each party has its own considerations.
His deployment sent mixed signals and might even jeopardize the stability by corrupting the trust in the region, which has already been built with a lot of effort over these last few decades.
