em>Your comments on the controversy on the need to distribute free condoms although the Health Ministry has denied introducing the program to encourage casual sex or to halt the alarming number of abortions:
Sex education is a must in any family. The Health Ministry should see to it that every family learns, knows and understands what sexual intercourse is all about without any malicious meaning.
Educated parents should know how to give sex education to their kids (including birth control and the prevention of sexual diseases) without making it vulgar or creating any embarrassment whatsoever to all concerned.
The distribution of free condoms is a genius strategy in that the enemy of the nation is already 50 percent defeated; the other 50 percent is how smart we are about convincing our youth to use protection whenever necessary.
The dangers of sexual diseases and unwanted pregnancies should be thoroughly taught; and should be openly discussed without fear or shame by parents and teachers concerned.
In fact, teachers should consider their students as their own family members. Hence, coordination between parents and teachers should be a must.
The modern society should view an educated person as someone who carries an adequate number of condoms.
The Health Ministry should see to it that the production of condoms is never interrupted; and must accept any suggestion that improves health and comfort. Our youths need us!

Distributing condoms to teenagers is a ridiculous idea, which is the same as promoting pre-marital sex.
I think there are many effective ways to curb HIV/AIDS transmission than condom use. We are able to prevent it by keeping the disease away with preventive action by improving the nation’s morality.
Dealing with this, I strongly support the opinion of Khofifah Indar Parawansa, head of the women’s division of the Nahdlatul Ulama, who said that while abortion rates among teenage girls are high, the issue should be addressed with religion, not contraceptives.
She said: “Such problems should not be addressed by distributing condoms and there should be a serious effort to teach our children faith and obedience.”
“Second, the right and blessed solution to preventing AIDS and unwanted pregnancies is to stop adultery, stop prostitution, stop free sex, stop sodomy, stop homosexuality, lesbianism and all sex deviations.”

The old fashioned idea that condoms are only for use by registered husbands and wives, exactly the people who do not require condoms, should be abandoned in this society, which aims for democracy and liberalism.
Look under the bridges, flyovers, especially in cheap hotels, where all those people who do not qualify as husbands and wives are fornicating like there is no tomorrow regardless of their preferences. The Health Ministry is very much right in its approach!

As a preventative measure in the fight against HIV/AIDS, the free condom giveaway should be carried out at locations where commercial sex workers operate, whereas for the youth, the government should emphasize explicit information on healthy sex with religious values.

Condom free distribution is not a good idea. It will enhance pre-marital sex drives.
To halt the considerable amount of abortions and other harmful risks, the youth should be given intensive education about healthy sex based on moral and religious values.
