Actor Reza Rahardian has been studying German to prepare for his role as former president BJ Habibie in an upcoming film.
Habibie was reportedly surprised when he heard a recording of the Reza speaking the German he had learned so far. The country’s third president returned the surprise by offering to become the actor’s German tutor.
“[Habibie] offered to teach me [German]. Of course I am very pleased,” Reza said on Monday, as quoted by tempo.co.
Reza said that he prepared for the role by going to Habibie’s house, where he was given a personal tour by the former president.
