angon: Swedish pop group ABBA will visit Myanmar on Nov. 30 to hold a concert, according to reports.
The concert will be held at the People's Square on that day at 7:30 p.m., elevenmyanmar.com reported.
ABBA was a pop music group formed in Stockholm, Sweden in November 1970. The band consisted of Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida), Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Fältskog. They topped the charts worldwide from 1972 to 1982 with eight studio albums, achieving twenty-six singles and numerous awards. They also won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo.
'This band has won popularity worldwide in 1970s and 1980s. Their music reaches people's heart. Now, this band is made up of not only the old members but also new ones. I arranged this concert because I want ABBA's fans to be able to enjoy them. Moreover, I've arranged entrance fees to sell at reasonable prices. Myanmar singers will also join the concert together with them but until now I couldn't say for sure the singers' names,' said Pee Paw, organizer of the show.
