 Airport security arrest bag thief

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport security caught a bag thief in Terminal 2F at the airport on Thursday.

General affairs manager of state-owned airport management company PT Angkasa Pura II Yudis Tiawan said the perpetrator, identified as AT from Utan Kayu subdistrict, East Jakarta, had first drawn airport security'€™s suspicion 10 days ago and had been monitored by CCTV since. He came to the airport twice a day.

AT admitted he had stolen three bags on separate occasions from arrival terminals. He stole the bags by furtively dragging them away from their unsuspecting owners.

'€œWe encourage people to be more alert in the airport and always keep an eye on their belongings, as security is a shared responsibility,'€ Yudis added.

AT was not acting alone, but his partner had escaped.
