The Jambi administration will soon apply a bylaw that will punish people involved in prostitution ' including pimps, brothel owners and sex workers ' with six months in jail and Rp 50 million (US$4,093) in fines. Jambi Deputy Mayor Abdullah Sani said his administration would disseminate the bylaw first, before applying it.
Your comments:
To: the Jambi administration.
It is very easy to pass a law and say you cannot do this or that. You say you are even prepared to help those with sewing skills. How many sewing machines are you prepared to buy and for how many years to come? It's like blowing hot air when you know that there is no way to meet people's requirements. There may be hundreds of women out there without such skills, and then what? Will you be so kind as to look for jobs for them? And what happens if they approach you for help? Do you shut the door and leave them to suffer just because of your brilliant ideas?
Remember, prostitution is the world's oldest profession. It does not bring shame on your city; corruption does ' it is haram to everyone in Jambi! Have you ever thought about that?
