tate-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan has replaced the president director of state-owned shipping company PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni), Syahril Japarin, with Sulistyo Wimbo Hardjito, as the company has continued to suffer losses.

Sulistyo previously served as commercial director of state-run railway firm PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

"Syahril is a good person but we are not happy with the company's financial situation," Dahlan said in Jakarta on Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.

He said that Pelni suffered a net loss of Rp 630 billion (US$54.81 billion) throughout 2013, even though its debt was decreasing. (nfo)
