JAKARTA: Gita Gutawa says that her latest album, The Next Chapter, will mark a new beginning for her as an artist.
'The first album [Gita Gutawa, 2007] and the second one [Harmoni Cinta, 2009] were mostly written by my father. I only needed to get into the studio and sing,' Gita, the daughter of music producer and composer Erwin Gutawa, said, as quoted by kompas.com in a recent interview.
'On the third album [Balada Shalawat, 2010], I began to write lyrics a bit,' the 21-year-old singer said. 'This latest album mostly contains my own works and concepts.'
Gita said that she wrote around 30 songs for her latest albums and from those, nine were chosen to be recorded.
