resident Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo inaugurated Franky Sibarani, a businessman and secretary-general of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo), as chief of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Jakarta on Thursday at the State Palace.
The President also inaugurated Nusron Wahid, the leader of the youth wing of the country's largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), as the head of the Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI). Nusron was stripped of his position in the House of Representatives by the Golkar Party for his support for Jokowi.
Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said the president considered both men qualified to head the respective institutions.
'Sibarani is from the business world while Nusron, as the head of [the NU youth wing], is seen as someone who is strongly committed to improving the manpower sector in Indonesia,' Andi said on Thursday as quoted by kontan.co.id. (nfo)(++++)
