A planned mass gathering of supporters of the Islamic State (IS) movement at a mosque in Semarang, Central Java, was canceled on Sunday. Visitors riding motorcycles with plate numbers from Kudus and Tegal were seen arriving at Madyo Mangun Karso Mosque on Jl. Wolter Monginsidi, Pedurungan district, to attend the gathering, which was scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
After learning that the meeting was canceled and they could not enter the mosque since its gate was locked, the crowd greeted each other and left the premises. The mosque had been quiet since morning, with at least 10 police officers guarding it. There was no banner indicating a gathering would be held in the mosque.
Your comments:
Let the meeting go ahead. Send Densus 88 in and round up all the people in attendance. Then send them to a re-education camp where they can learn the values of Pancasila.

They shouldn't have cancelled the meeting. What ought to happen is that when everyone is in the building, Densus 88 should take the names and addresses of all in attendance and monitor them.

Let's fight it together. Indonesia is committed to democracy and does not resort to violence. As a Muslim, I call on to all Indonesian Muslims not to let themselves be duped by IS propaganda. Propaganda must be anticipated.
It is extremely dangerous for our country! Indonesia was conceived with Bhineka Tunggal Ika (unity in diversity) by Islamic scholars before independence. Do not let the IS movement affect the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia.

Why was the meeting allowed in the first place?

Hey radicals, I bet you don't dare to fight Israel or Singapore or China, because these countries are at your level. They have the equipment and the army to fight you. Leave Indonesia alone!

If IS is banned in Indonesia, why aren't they arrested? I just don't understand the logic of Indonesian law in this case.
Drugs are banned and if you are caught with them you are arrested and could face a firing squad, so why not IS members? They are worse than drug users.

The fact that there are IS followers in Indonesia scares me.

Has Indonesia not condemned IS as contrary to Islam? Is it not degrading Islam to drum up support for a criminal organization that preaches hate?
In many countries around the world, Muslims who have a good, peaceful and happy existence, and have integrated into mixed, tolerant societies, are having their lives ruined by the hate preaching of these criminals, these murderers.
Just look at what happened in France.
Why can predominantly Muslim countries never take a true stand, only talk?
