Noted songstress Anggun C. Sasmi won the International Breakthrough Award at the Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM) 2015 in Singapore.
She also received the Diamond-Sales Award for selling one million albums in Europe from 1997 through 2015.
'I've been criticized a lot because of my choice to go abroad and start my international career,' she said as quoted by Antara news agency.
'These awards show that I made the right choice and I hope I can encourage all of you to never stop being ambitious.'
The 'Mimpi' singer is finishing her latest album, which is being produced by English hitmaker Brian Rawling, who has worked with Celine Dion, One Direction and Kylie Minogue.
The album's French version will be released in France on Nov. 20, before its English version is released for the Indonesian and other markets in 2016.
