ORONTALO: The head of Dembe Jaya subdistrict in Gorontalo, Faniear Nanda Doda, said on Friday that he had banned his subordinates from watching Indian soap opera Uttaran, as it was disrupting their performance at work.

'€œUttaran is pretty long. It'€™s aired from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and it'€™s disrupting my staff'€™s performance,'€ Fanier, 27, said.

He had, he said, announced the ban with a notice posted above the TV in the subdistrict office on Thursday.

A staff member took a picture of the notice, which subsequently went viral online.
