Guess what?: Dikta not singing in new project

J

AKARTA: The vocalist of Yovie & Nuno, Pradikta Wicaksono, better known as Dikta, has joined a new music project as a guitarist.

Pyscho Disco, which performs electronic dance music (EDM), comprises Ifan from pop band Govinda on vocals, Ikmal Tobing on drums and DJ Jaquline.

'€œI won'€™t contribute my vocals in this project. Ifan is the main vocalist with DJ Jaquline on back-up,'€ Dikta said as reported by kapanlagi.com on Sunday.

Dikta, who named Jimi Hendrix as his guitarist idol, said that Eno, the drummer of alternative rock band NTRL, would temporarily replace Ikmal for their upcoming performance because of conflicting schedules. Psycho Disco is a side project for its members, covering popular songs.

'€œDikta is known as a vocalist, but here he'€™s playing guitar. We are known as parts of pop bands, but here we are playing EDM songs. But we still use percussion drums to keep it unique,'€ said Ifan.

Dikta said he chose to play guitar to make the side project different.

'€œI want to focus more on being a guitarist. I want to do something different in this music genre.'€
