ndonesia has strongly condemned Israel’s recent attack on Iran, describing it as an unlawful act that undermines international law and risks exacerbating existing tensions in the region.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Friday, the Foreign Ministry stressed that all countries are obligated to resolve conflicts peacefully in accordance with international law.
“[The attack] could potentially trigger a broader conflict,” the statement warned. “All parties must exercise the utmost restraint and avoid any actions that might further escalate tensions or cause instability.”
On Friday, Tel Aviv launched a wave of strikes across Iran in what it called “Operation Rising Lion”, targeting military and nuclear sites, including the country’s main uranium enrichment facility at Natanz, located 326 kilometers south of Tehran. Strikes also targeted residential areas across Tehran, reportedly causing civilian casualties.
Israel and its local media described the strikes as a pre-emptive move to halt Iran’s nuclear progress, which Israel views as a direct existential threat due to Iran’s hostile stance toward Tel Aviv.
