AKARTA: Bass player in the rock band Kotak, Swasti Sabdastantri, otherwise known as Chua, yearns to return to the stage, which she has left temporarily as she is pregnant with her first child.
Chua, 28, admitted she had not played the bass guitar at all during the past seven months of her pregnancy. “I’d like to give it a try closer to my due date,” she said as quoted by tribunnnews.com on Tuesday.
Vocalist Tantri Syalindri Ichlasari has also been on maternity leave since January. She gave birth to a baby girl in April. Her position was filled by Kikan, former vocalist of Cokelat, seeing the group’s name change temporarily to Kikan X Kotak.
Guitarist Mario Marcella Handika Putra, or Cella, regularly updates Chua regarding the band’s performance schedule.
“He wants us both to return as soon as possible. I miss performing on stage so much. Whenever Kotak plays, I request videos of the stage performance”. — JP
