The suspects are accused of cybercrime and assaulting police officers.

The police said they named two suspects on Wednesday, identified as RS, 16, and SW, 18, for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

“The two people have been arrested as they were allegedly involved in the riot by chasing Brig. Yudha,” Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Awi Setiyono said as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.

Previously, the police named three people suspects — J, aka Oboy, 28; MDN, aka Qinoy, 25; and RZM, 25 — for allegedly beating up police officers, including Brig. Hanafi, whose left eye had to be removed after he sustained severe injuries.

The police said they also named suspects MR, R, I, A, and AF for allegedly spreading hate speech on social media platforms including Facebook. On Tuesday, the police issued a most-wanted list in an attempt to pursue others suspected to have participated in the riot, based on footage captured by CCTV cameras. (ebf)
