View all search resultsndonesian citizens who live abroad yet have no identity card (KTP) or tax registration numbers (NPWP) could invest in Indonesia soon, an official said.
The Investment Coordination Board (BKPM) chairman Franky Sibarani saidMonday in Jakarta the board was currently preparing an investment scheme for the citizens.
“If the plan is managed to be implemented, around eight million of the Indonesian diaspora who have about Rp 100 million [US$7,626] per person can invest in Indonesia.” Franky said, adding BKPM was also preparing an investment scheme for participants of the tax amnesty program.
The board will facilitate the tax amnesty program’s participants, intending to invest through real economy projects, by assigning special front officers to help them invest through the real sectors.
“They will meet our front officers whose jobs are to facilitate the investment process. If there is an investment plan requiring tax allowance or tax holiday, we will certainly facilitate it,” Franky said.(vny/dmr)
