Guess what?: Chelsea to appear in Japanese TV Drama

AKARTA: Actress Chelsea Islan has received a golden opportunity to act opposite Japanese actor Shu Watanabe in Japanese TV drama series When You Wish upon A Sakura.

Initially, the 21-year old said she could not believe that she was getting the chance at a part in the series.

“The first time I was offered this project was late last year. I didn’t expect to get an offer. It turns out that this is collaboration between two countries,” Chelsea said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.

In the series, Chelsea, who has long loved Japan, plays the role of Elly, who she thinks is similar to her.

“I have loved Japan ever since I was young […] One of the things I like about Asia is Japan,” she added.

Through this project, Chelsea is determined to bring Indonesia to the global stage. She also wants to show people that Indonesian actors are not to be taken lightly. — JP
