he Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned on Monday that heavy rain would occur in Sumatra, Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara, which could cause floods, landslides and bring down trees over the next three days.
BMKG spokesman Harry Tirto said in a written statement that the heavy rain would also be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
He called on operators and users of maritime transportation, fishermen and people who planned to visit beaches to exercise care as waves were predicted to reach up to 4 meters, including in the southern waters of Java, Bali and Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara.
The BMKG said that people could call 021-6546318 or visit web.meteo.bmkg.go.id to get updated information on weather in their areas.

At 11:30 a.m. civil servants were seen leaving the building in their bare feet, tribunnews.com reported. The depth of the water was about 30 centimeters, and several documents were damaged. (wnd/evi)
