ublicly listed internet service provider Link Net, known for its broadband service FastNet, saw its net profits go up by a double-digit margin in the first nine months of the year, on the back of the increased penetration of its services into the country’s major cities.
The firm, which is a subsidiary of the Lippo Group-affiliated multimedia firm, First Media, reported that it managed to book Rp 605 billion (US$46.29 million) in net profits from January to September, up by 35 percent year-on-year (yoy) from the corresponding period last year.
The firm’s revenues, meanwhile, increased by 14 percent yoy to Rp 2.15 trillion.
"We are really happy with our performance during this period ," Link Net president director Irwan Djaja said on Wednesday in a press release.
Irwan said the company had seen increased service penetration in three Indonesian major cities – Jakarta, Surabaya in East Java and Bandung in West Java – where its services were already available. As of September, it added 105,000 new subscribers, bringing the total number of subscribers to almost 1 million. (hwa)
